Could Aaron Sorkin’s Meetings With Marvel And DC Be The Beginning Of Amalgam Movies?

Famed director Aaron Sorkin will meet with both Marvel and DC this week. Both companies are looking to woo the famed director, and one of them could really use his help. ComicBook.com learned of this while speaking with Sorkin at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

“I happen to have meetings coming up with both DC and Marvel,” he said. “I have to go into these meetings and tell them as respectfully as I can that I’ve never read a comic book. It’s not that I don’t like them, it’s just that I’ve never been exposed to one. So, I’m hoping that somewhere in their library is a comic book character that I’m gonna love and I’m going to want to go back and start reading from the first issue on.”

That’s right, he’s an Academy Award winner

As exciting as that news might be for some, what could Aaron Sorkin contribute to the MCU? At the moment, no looming projects look like they could use his wizardry. And, the television projects at ABC and Netflix don’t require someone with experience making The West Wing and The Newsroom. Perhaps if Marvel ever starts Avengers: West Coast, they could use Sorkin’s help to differentiate it from the Avengers we’ve come to know and love.

The real fun begins when we think of Sorkin meeting with DC. First, there will be rose pedals laid out at his feet. Then, the groveling starts. “Save us, save us” and they parade him around on their shoulders, up and down the stairs. I’d love to see him take on the Dark Justice League, or whatever they’re calling that film this week. If not that, perhaps he could turn Shazam into a real piece of cinema magic. He made us love Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network; he can do the same with whoever is going to star opposite Dwayne Johnson.

What if… he talked them into an Amalgam movie???

We can dream, can’t we?
