An Obi-Wan Kenobi Solo Film To Be Announced?

Star Wars nerds, I need you to take a knee gang. Would you like an Obi-Wan Kenobi film? Something that took place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope? According to StarWarsNewsNet.com, Kathleen Kennedy and the rest of Lucasfilm fully intend to make an Obi-Wan movie set during that time, with Ewan McGregor in tow! Woo! Doesn’t that feel good?

Now, don’t go expecting the normal trilogy treatment because Star Wars News Net also reported that this is a singular movie. Which is refreshing to hear honestly. Not everything needs to be stretched out. Sometimes a great story just needs to be told, getting straight to the meat and potatoes. Besides, for all we know Obi-Wan sat around knitting until Luke came knocking. Don’t look at me like that, I’ve never read the books, I’ve only ever seen the movies.

Oh, and a little birdie says that a director may already be in the works for this project. Rogue One’s Gareth Edwards could be returning to the director’s chair. Apparently, Kathleen Kennedy was quite happy with his work on Rogue One.

The site also indicates that an announcement is forthcoming in the next few weeks:

An announcement of an Obi-Wan movie might just be one of the big surprises at Celebration Orlando.

Cross your fingers for the announcement at Celebration Orlando, which is in the near future. Alright guys, that’s it for now. Star Wars on 3. 1…2…3…

Feels like just yesterday we were bored during everything but the final fight scene in this movie.
