Although DC Comics’ superhero mega franchise beat all the competition this weekend at the box office, its $96 million North American haul was not enough to avenge naysayers who viewed the film’s inability to crack $100 million as a disappointment. Justice League, which was panned by critics but received a B+ Cinemascore from audiences, was the lowest opener of the Warner superhero adventure, throwing below Wonder Woman’s $103 million opener earlier this year despite a strong beginning on Thursday night. From acclaimed director Ava DuVernay (The 13th, Selma) comes a new Disney film about the journey of discovering one’s own abilities. And now the film, A Wrinkle in Time, has a new trailer and some stills. The film is scheduled for a March 2018 and stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw amongst others. Caught for months and weeks on end by all the negative publicity that surrounded the much-discussed reshoots, Warner Bros.’ Justice League is on the verge of seeing the light of day and letting the people–and the critics–decide.
