Ron Howard Grabs Control of HAN SOLO Project As Questions Swirl

It’s been a dark time for the Star Wars galaxy in the last 36 hours or so, since it was announced that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie) were fired from their role at the head of the upcoming Han Solo project and that long-time epic movie director Ron Howard had taken the reigns. Rumors and conflicting reports have since been appearing on the web trying to explain exactly why the duo was let go. Sounding like a song from the musical Chicago, Lucasfilm cited simply “creative differences.” The company thinks they brought the pair in to...

“Fallen Kingdom” Title of Next Jurassic World Movie

Universal has just revealed that the title for the upcoming Jurassic World sequel will be FALLEN KINGDOM, and has also released a one-sheet teaser for the movie that you can see here! “Life Finds a Way” is the tag line for the new movie. After the explosive and somewhat unexpected success of  Jurassic World a couple of years back, Universal is headed back to the Mesozoic– and how could it not? FILM REVIEW: Sofia Coppola’s THE BEGUILED Uncomfortably Charms You

Sofia Coppola is undoubtedly considered one of the great artists of our American generation, be it for her singular aesthetic touch or her willingness to push the envelope and jar the audiences in subtle and unexpected ways. A small minority, myself included, offer a quiet dissent from the universal praise she receives, thinking her art overwrought and her exertions obvious. As Sony and Marvel prepare for the big launch of what they hope will be one of many successful projects in the Spider-Man universe, executives have confirmed that a fellow known as Carnage will make his live-action debut in the upcoming Tom Hardy film. THR Reported: “As for the expansion plans, Tom Hardy is starring in Venom, dated for Oct. 5, 2018, which will also feature the villain Carnage.” So it seems that Harry’s Eddie Brock won’t be the only one with an extraterrestrial symbiote to deal with but, given that Venom isn’t exactly your typical hero, ahem, it will be interesting to see what...

Film Review: TRANSFORMERS 5 Improves On A Troubled Franchise

It may seem oxymoronic to call a multi-billion dollar movie franchise “troubled,” but when fans and reviewers alike call your films, say, “wrecked,” and you achieve Rotten Tomatoes lows of 18%, you have a problem, China audiences be damned. So it is that the latest Michael Bay bombast, Transformers: The Last Knight, saunters into theaters this week. In this film, billed as the last of the series (we promise!), yet another extinction-level-event threatens the Earth as the war between Transformers reaches a cacophony that has humans in the bulls eye. If cacophony is even possible in a Michael Bay...
