Rumor: Spidey Cameo In VENOM Movie?

As far as we have heard so far, the Spider-Man spinoff movie Venom will be a film entirely separated from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will have its own plot. Although the contours of that story are itself unclear, everyone has been operating under the assumption that Tom Holland won’t be anywhere near the project, with which Marvel doesn’t even have a producing role. That is, until the recent Spider-Man cameo rumor surfaced. But doc director Jon Schnepp now claims that we will be seeing Holland’s incarnation of the webbed hero in the upcoming film, set for a 2018 release,...

FILM REVIEW: A Slow Agonizing Demise in Maze Runner Finale, DEATH CURE

As far as post-apocalyptic novel adaptations go, The Maze Runner series has not quite achieved the heights of standard-bearers like The Hunger Games, without ever sinking to the depths of other disasters like the Divergent movies. So it is for the third and final act of the saga, The Death Cure, a middling, sometimes entertaining, sometimes obnoxiously pointless film that completes the story of Thomas and his Gladers. It is not so much that there is anything pointedly wrong with the movie, but there are few things right with it as well. Like a slowly decomposing human infected by...

Mark Strong Talks About Upcoming Film SHAZAM

The superhero movie Shazam has been shrouded in secrecy from inception. Some of the measures being taken to protect the scrip – encryption, disappearing text – could rival supernatural tricks themselves. But now actor Mark Strong (Kingsmen Movies) has much to say about the anticipated spinoff to the DC universe about a young boy who can turn into Captain Marvel by screaming the eponymous acronym. Strong told an audience in London: “If you stop reading the script for 20 seconds then the whole thing goes fuzzy and you have to start again. Everything is watermarked and traceable too. “I’m...

First Look at Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock in VENOM!

Although much has been teased about Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man spinoff Venom, most of the plot had been left to speculation and has really been kept under wraps. That is starting to change ahead of the October 5 release of the film, which is still filming. IGN got its hands on a still of Star Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, Venom by night, in full reporter mode. Even more exciting, they’ve graced us with full videos out of Brazil’s Comic-Con from a December panel where the movie was discussed with Hardy and director Ruben Fleischer. Said the director: “We want to be as true as possible to the comic with our film. But our story is primarily based on the Lethal Protector and the Planet of the Symbiotes book.” Hardy is also very clearly much into the Venom project. This is what he had to say: “I just wanted to say that I give you my word of honor that I’m going to do everything that I can to deliver the best Venom that I possibly can muster.” Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, and Jenny Slate also star. Check out the panel...

FILM REVIEW: ACTS OF VIOLENCE Exhibits A Wanton Adulation of Mayhem

Bruce Willis is back in familiar territory in the shoot ‘em up, knock ‘em down action thriller Acts of Violence. The film, about the bloody encounters that follow the kidnapping Roman’s (Ashton Holmes) girlfriend, is a passing of the torch of sorts for the famed action actor. He plays the staid cop, Detective James Avery, hamstrung by his position from taking actions against the gangsters into his own hands. It is not familiar territory for the star, and the film undoubtedly belongs to its other, more virile actors, including Holmes but principally X-Men star Shawn Ashmore as his brother...
