Re-Cap: THE WALKING DEAD Season 7, Episode 11: Hostiles and Calamities

Episode eleven of The Walking Dead was nowhere near as entertaining to watch as last night’s Oscar historic catastrophe, but nevertheless had a few good moments. “Hostiles and Calamities” delves into the character of Eugene, one of the few supporting characters on the show that The Walking Dead has bothered to give an arc to. When we first meet Eugene, he’s a cowardly dork that lies about knowing the secret to the zombie infection in order to stay alive and be protected by Abraham. (R.I.P) Eugene is still nowhere near as badass as Rick or Michonne, but has come...

THE WALKING DEAD: Season 7 Episode 10 Recap “New Best Friends”

The Walking Dead has been a problematic show for most of its runtime. Season 2 was a boring slog that almost tanked the entire series. The latter half of Season 3 was a complete mess. Glenn’s fake-out death in season six was rightfully maligned, as was the stunningly dumb season six finale. Season 7A was a depressing exercise in sadism, which introduced us to the show’s most irritating antagonist. Now the show seems to finally be getting good again. Consistency has never been the show’s forte, but i’m at least finally optimistic in the show’s future. Hopefully, the showrunners...

His latest film Interstellar was visually spectacular, but suffered from plot holes, on the nose dialogue, and flat characterizations. It is unclear yet whether Dunkirk will suffer from a weak script like Interstellar. What is...

THE WALKING DEAD: Season 7 Episode 9 Recap – “Rock in the Road”

The overwhelming success of The Walking Dead is perhaps the most interesting aspect of the entire show. The show is brutal, deeply nihilistic, and often times depressing. But it continues to draw huge ratings and be one of the biggest shows on television. The Walking Dead was a critical darling in its first season, when the show was produced by Shawshank Redemption director Frank Darabont. Now, in its seventh season, the show has been repeatedly criticized for its cheap cliffhangers, hokey dialogue, and clunky plotting. The midseason premiere of Season 7 is not as gory or eventful as the...

Two New Television Spots For LOGAN

Recently, two Television spots for the highly anticipated Logan were revealed. Logan, which is directed by 3:10 to Yuma director James Mangold, is extraordinary for a myriad of reasons. It is the final performance of Hugh Jackman as the character of Logan/Wolverine. It is also the first R-rated X-Men film in the franchise. Jackman originated the role of Logan/Wolverine in 2000’s X-Men. Allegedly, Jackman took a pay cut in order to get the upcoming Logan financed. Regardless, the decision to make Logan R-rated was heavily inspired by the overwhelming success of Deadpool. Deadpool star Ryan Gosling and Doctor Strange...
