Breaking: Colin Trevorrow Fired from STAR WARS: EPISODE IX

Colin Trevorrow, who was slated to direct Star Wars: Episode IX, has “parted ways” with Lucasfilm in connection with his participation the project.

Little else is known about the predictably amicable divorce except what is on StarWars.com, which explains that Trevorrow “has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but [the parties] have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ.”

Trevorrow gained notoriety when he directed the reboot of the Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World, to record-breaking levels, and had stoked the excitement of Star Wars fans when he was brought on board the last three of the currently slated films.

No word on his replacement but you can bet that between this and changes in the Han Solo project, the cinematic universe will face questions and increasing inquiry as time goes on.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

Any similarity with the slightly unstable writer in the seminal 1944 film ‘The Lost Weekend’ is pure coincidence
