David Fincher Speaks About World War Z 2

Splashcepticons, it’s Friday loosen up, I deserve a high-five for that one. Moving along, we’re gathered here today to discuss World War Z 2. The first film was received by fans and critics very well, and despite the publicized production issues, we all collectively screamed “make another and take my money!” To catch everyone up, the sequel was going to originally be directed by J.A. Bayona but he had to step away from the project to helm Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom. In steps David Fincher, to shock the world. And, that’s about as much as we’ve heard since it was announced since June. But, Fincher did speak on WWZ2 a smidge in a recent interview on Empire Podcast.

“I worked on a show for HBO that didn’t see the light of day and at the same time was doing [Mindhunter], and did [Mindhunter] and I’ve been working for about a year now with Dennis Kelly on World War Z…We’re hoping to get a piece of material that’s a reason to make a movie, not an excuse to make a movie.”

Look, the man made Alien 3; it’s totally understandable why he wouldn’t want to rush into another big franchise unless it was great. But, with Brad Pitt, zombies, and an R rating, this thing can be amazing! Are you with me?
