David Leitch Talks Brolin Cable In DEADPOOL 2
Cinemablend recently interviewed director David Leitch (John Wick) at San Diego Comic-Con International. Leitch was on hand to talk about his latest film, Atomic Blonde, and also Deadpool 2, which he is currently filming with actors Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as the ‘Merc with the mouth.’
Reynolds is joined by veteran actor Josh Brolin (Sicario, Hail Caesar!), who plays the time-traveling mutant Nathan Summers aka Cable. Fans were hesitant about Brolin’s casting due to the fact that the actor is playing the main villain Thanos in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled sequel, Avengers 4.
Leitch talked about how Brolin was the right choice to play Cable saying:
“I think everybody in sort of the Marvel and Fox world considered it, and they take their time and make measured moves. But I think everyone thought it was prudent and was okay in terms of the way Thanos is portrayed and Cable is portrayed. They’re very different in styles, and in terms of the way they are presented in the movies, obviously. We couldn’t have cast a better Cable. We were filming last night and both of them were on set, and the chemistry is amazing. It’s such a fun movie to be on. I’m really grateful.”
Deadpool 2 is slated for a June 1st 2018 release date.
