Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Expected To Make $120+ Million On Opening Weekend

With Disney’s Beauty and the Beast expected to make tons of cash, the early reports look very promising.

I’ve been a firm believer that this movie will make a gazillion dollars just in the box office. I’m sure that all the other BATB related materials like toys, merchandise, video games, etc. will bring in another gazillion. That’s 2 Gazillion dollars people. I’m no mathematician but luckily we found people that are…and i’m sure they can give you some more realistic numbers.

Early tracking is suggesting that Beauty and the Beast could reach $120 million in its North American debut. Disney insiders are said to be more cautious with these numbers but i’m sure they’ll be more than happy by Sunday night.

To make $100+ million in the month of March is no easy feat. The current record-holder is last year’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice with $166.1 million, followed by The Hunger Games with $152.5 million in 2012 and fellow Disney live-action film Alice in Wonderland with $116.1 million in 2010. After that, the next closest is Oz the Great and Powerful with $79 million in 2013. If Oz can make $80 million, I’d expect BATB to double that, easily.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a live-action update of the classic 1991 animated musical of the same name. Directed by Bill Condon, It follows a princess named Belle who is taken prisoner by a fearsome Beast in his enchanted castle while trying to avoid a narcissistic suitor, Gaston.

The film stars Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belles eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster; six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald as Madame Garderobe, the wardrobe; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast let’s you be its guest starting March 17, 2017.

How much money do you think the movie will make on opening weekend? Leave us your guess in the comments section!
