The old adage to take a step forward you sometimes have to take two steps back seems to apply perfectly to the progression or regression that The Flash movie has made in the past few weeks. Though many were elated to hear that not only did the DCEU secure its main character actor in Ezra Miller who will play The Flash in the soon to come Justice League film but that there were also two strong candidates to direct the film, Matthew Vaughn & Robert Zemeckis.
But, just when it seemed things were moving in the right direction another set back has struck the film with the report (via EW) of actor Billy Crudup stepping away from the production. He was slated to play the father of Barry Allen and so had a prominent role in the movie.
Though this is the first news of any actor leaving The Flash it still does not bode well for what has already been a shaky start to bringing the speedster to the big screen. The consolation that Ezra Miller is still on board and excited to play The Flash is little solace for the DCEU that is playing catchup with a sprinting Marvel Studios.
