GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS Gets A Start Date
It’s almost time for extras to scream the name Godzilla again.
Just a few years ago Star Wars: Rogue One director Gareth Edwards brought the legendary beast back from his slumber in a pretty cool way. Although the human stuff was forgettable, the monsters and action scenes were really dope.
Giant monsters are making a big comeback and Hollywood knows it. So do the toy companies. Pretty soon Godzilla will fight Kong in their own movie. But before that glorious film arrives…the giant lizard gets a sequel.
Krampus director Mike Dougherty will be the man bringing the sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters back to the big screen and we can expect some more monster fun.
The folks over at Omega Underground came across a start of production date, and it sounds like the return of Godzilla will begin filming in Atlanta, Georgia, starting on June 19th.
“Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown will appear in Legendary’s sequel to Godzilla. No…she’s not fighting him. Don’t worry.
The film is part of the Legendary and Warner Bros. cinematic universe and will be released on March 22, 2019. Michael Dougherty is directing from a script by Dougherty and Zach Shields.
Up next for Legendary is Kong: Skull Island on March 10, 2017, also via Warner Bros.
