James Gunn Explains Ego’s Involvement In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2
Earlier this week, it was reported that director James Gunn is planning on making Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
There are some more information regarding the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. In a interview with Complex, James Gunn explains to them what is the role of Kurt Russell’s character in the film, Ego.
Ego is a living planet who is able to manifest himself in different ways he’s been alone for millions of years and he’s learned how to control the molecules around him in such a way as to create avatars of themselves, such as Kurt Russell. I think Ego was a very lonely character out there by himself and went off in search of love and perhaps found it in Quill’s mother.
The casting of Russell as the father of the cocky Starlord is perfect as Russell is no stranger to playing conceited characters like Jack Burton in John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China.
Russell will be joining Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Starlord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon and Vin Diesel as Groot for this sequel to the much beloved Marvel Cinematic Universe film entry. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released on May 5.
