Jessica Chastain Confirmed for X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX?
Academy Award-nominated actress Jessica Chastain has seemingly confirmed her involvement in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Chastain has been heavily rumored to play the antagonist role of Princess-Majestrix Lilandra Neramani of the alien race known as the Shi’ar Empire from the X-Men comic books.
The actress teased her villainous role on her official Instagram page with a picture of herself alongside actor James McAvoy, who plays Professor Charles Xavier, with the headline:
“Hey @jamesmcavoyrealdeal you ready for me up in Montreal? Im gonna make you cry so hard 😈 #xmen @simondavidkinberg.”
In this new film, the X-Men will be in conflict with Empress Lilandra Neramani and the Shi’ar Empire over X-Men member Jean Grey, whose is slowly transforming herself into the cosmic entity known only as the Dark Phoenix. Rumors suggest the X-Men will go up into space to clash with the Shi’ar Empire and that Michael Fasbender’s Magneto will also be in the mix as well.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be directed by Simon Kinberg and star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Alexandra Shipp.
