JUDGE DREDD Artwork Teases TV Show
The last we saw of Judge Dredd, Karl Urban was wearing the trademark helmet and had just finished slaying the last of his bad guys. This was the second iteration of Judge Dredd and has been the last, until now. IGN.com recently revealed some exclusive looks at some developmental sketches for what looks to be a Judge Dredd TV Show that is in the works. There hasn’t been much treading on the path to production but they with the artwork already out showing two potential scenes it is a strong indicator that some progress has been made.
Another key thing is the development art work does not show Judge Dredd at all, but scenes of what is known as Mega-City, the well known stomp ground of the Judge, this gives some proof to the idea the producer, Jason Kingsley, had about where he wanted to take the show saying it will have “multi-thread storylines, one of which will be Dredd’s but others which take us into the wider world of Mega-City One.”
There is no home for the show but Karl urban has been tapped to revisit his lead role from the 2012 film which will bolster the interest of networks hopefully. With solid release date in sight, we can guess this one will be coming along slowly as this is the first attempt to turn the take no prisoners future cop into a series.
