Check Out the Cool JUSTICE LEAGUE Day of the Dead Poster!

Warner Bros. Latino has partnered up with creative artists to celebrate the Mexican Holiday Day of the Dead, and released a pretty cool new Justice League poster in which the faces of the main superheroes are drawn “calavera” (skull) style in the tradition of face paintings used by revelers in that feast.

Etched into the faces of the characters are also their names or nicknames in Spanish, with Batman being called “Caballero Oscuro,” (Dark Knight), Cyborg called “Genio” (Genius), Aquaman is “Rey” (King), Flash’s says “Velocidad” (Speed), and Wonder Woman’s lips spell “Maravilla” (Wonder). It’s a pretty cool move for what has to be one of the most aggressive marketing campaigns you have seen from the studio for its DC films yet.

The collaboration was with the Phoenix-based designer Poster Posse, and was first revealed in Twitter.

Don Birnam, the pseudonym of a New York City-based writer, is a voting member of the New York Film Critics Online and has been a movie lover since he saw the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film in theaters at a tender age. JDB has been a devoted student of American film history every since. His favorite films range from Back to the Future to West Side Story, depending on the time of day, and has a mildly unhealthy obsessions with the Academy Awards. Any similarity with the slightly unstable writer in the seminal 1944 film 'The Lost Weekend' is pure coincidence
