Justin Theroux Takes A Role In STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI

Thirsty for a little Star Wars news are you? Well then you’ll be pleased to know Justin Theroux (yes, from The Leftovers) will have a role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. According to, Theroux will play “an expert slicer” and he has a pretty pivotal moment. While details are scarce, here’s what they had to say of what his role appears to be.

His costume is pretty interesting as well. Imagine Indiana Jones’ white tuxedo from Temple of Doom but weirder and with a Star Wars twist. Theroux’s character wears a white tuxedo-style jacket over a black suit. His sequences fit into the casino section of the film where we saw Dubrovnik exteriors shot last year. If you’re curious, take a look at those Dubrovnik photos and the extras dressed up there to get a better idea of his costume. He looks a little fancier than most and almost has a James Bond look about him.

We have heard there was an explosion during a sequence shot on the “casino” set at Pinewood and perhaps Theroux plays a part in that. It isn’t immediately clear if he’s a good guy or a villain but he is dressed rather well to say the least.

Look, say what you will about The Leftovers, but Justin Theroux has turned in some pretty solid performances. Whether it’s The Girl on the Train, Wanderlust, or Miami Vice (hey, that movie was actually pretty awesome).

So, his inclusion in Star Wars’ universe is welcome, and we’ll have to wait and see just how pivotal this role is at the end of the year. Stay tuned for more Star Wars news as it comes.
