Warner Bros. released the trailer for the anticipated Lara Croft: Tomb Raider reboot franchise last night.  In it, we see Academy Awards winner Alicia Vikander as the titular heroine as she embarks on the familiar Croft origin story.

Upon learning of her father’s death, Lara Croft is thrust upon a high stakes adventure across temples, dungeons, and jungles, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. In addition to seeing the agile Vikander lrap over or scoot under deadly obstacles, jumping from platform to platform or into the river and sea as if in a high-tech computer game, the preview teases some of the plot details.

We see Lara’s archeologist father (Dominic West) tell her via a recorded message entombed in a secret vault about the threat of Trinity, “The Mother of Death,” destroying the world. Kristin Scott Thomas and Walton Goggins also appear in the trailer.

Warner Bros. is set to release the franchise reboot on March 16, 2018. Check out the first trailer below.
