LOGAN in Black and White Version PLUS Post Credit Scenes?

Well, Logan is a hit. If you haven’t heard, how are you reading this while avoiding all that is good and right in the world? It did $88 million dollars last weekend in the States and we’re just getting started. I won’t bore you with the normal “it’s R-rated OMG” talk that seems so popular. Instead, let’s look ahead a bit.

When Logan comes to Blu-Ray in the not so far future, it will have a Black & White version as a special feature. Director James Mangold is developing the version now, and told Deadline:

“I think it even surprised everyone to the degree that there is a kind of a running assumption that black and white is a turnoff for most people. It caused such an extreme reaction, and so much appreciation for these pictures, and then people immediately wondering if the film itself was going to be in black and white, and so we are giving it a whirl, and I think the Blu-ray will come out with a pass on it. I think it will be a very handsome black and white version of the picture,”

Mangold spoke of resisting corporate and fan pressure. He attended a press screening in Century City where the audience groaned after there was no final scene after the credits. As someone who has come to appreciate it, let’s not applaud this behavior. Sure, he didn’t have to provide an additional scene but it’s called “Fan Service.” But, despite the large amount of disappointment by those who felt left hanging, most people have very positive things to say about the film.
