Does Sony Have Major Plans For SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Character?
Now that Spider-Man: Homecoming has been screened to the media (including myself) in the past few days, an interesting detail has emerged. Michael Mando (Better Call Saul) plays Mac Gargan aka “The Scorpion” and it’s no secret nor spoiler because it’s on IMDB.
As you may recall about a month ago we reported on the story details for Silver and Black, (CLICK HERE for that), in which we reported that “The Scorpion” was in it. According to my source, he plays a significant role in Silver and Black. He plays the the chief henchman for Mendell Stromm (a.k.a. Robot Master).
Our source compared his presence in Silver and Black to Dave Bautista’s role in Spectre. A menacing henchman who faces off multiple times against Silver Sable and The Black Cat. He’s described as a massive muscular man with a cybernetically controlled mechanical tail.
What’s cool and interesting is that in the comics at one point Mac Gargan becomes a host for the Venom symbiote. After the Venom symbiote was removed from him in the aftermath of the Siege storyline, Gargan was sprung from the Raft by Alistair Smythe and outfitted with a new Scorpion suit.
It would be interesting to see which route Sony will go with this, especially that Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal made it very clear over the weekend that Spider-Man is the only character in the MCU… And all the other characters are a part of the Marvel comic book universe aka Spidey-verse.
Does this mean that Mondo’s Mac Gargan is the first crossover character in the Spidey-verse? Or will another actor be cast as Mac Gargan in Silver and Black? Let us know what you think and sound off below.
Sony had no comment.
