Meet the Vulture from SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING

One of the most exciting moments of the summer will surely be Spider-Man: Homecoming arriving in theaters on July 7, 2017. Oh, that felt nice to write, and read. We haven’t had many looks at the film’s main villain, the Vulture. All we know is that he is played by Michael Keaton. A bit more information has just been revealed about the Vulture, who’s name is Adrian Toomes. So who is Adrian Toomes, and why is he about to take the fight to Spidey? According to USA Today:

Fourteen previous Marvel films have seen a number of huge superhero battles leave a ton of destruction in their wake, and Adrian Toomes (Keaton) is a blue-collar sort who runs a New York salvaging company that cleans up after these messes. However, he becomes irked when after one altercation, a new government organization, founded by A-list businessman Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), steps in to take over.

Toomes “has a bone to pick” with Iron Man’s high-profile alter ego, says co-producer Eric Hauserman Carroll, and “sort of becomes the dark Tony Stark”: He and his crew — including the Shocker (Bokeem Woodbine) and the Tinkerer (Michael Chernus) — use scavenged alien artifacts and stolen advanced tech to put together amazing weaponry to sell to other criminals. “He thinks once he has this money and power, he’ll have more control of his life,” Carroll adds. However, it doesn’t take too long before they get on the radar of their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

So there we have it, a villain who’s been cleaning up after each big brawl in New York City. Imagine what things the Tinkerer could put together from the Chitari mess. Could Mysterio tech come of it? Mysterio deserves his go at the web head on the big screen, everyone else got their turn. How about Rhino and Scorpion buying some tech in this film? Almost every Iron Man movie left some kind of cool Stark technology wasted in the Big Apple. And, now we know how the Shocker and Tinkerer fit into the picture as well. They can’t get to the whole rogue gallery but I’ve got no doubt we’ll get a sneak peek at villains to come. Here’s the Homecoming trailer again, just in case you need a pick me up. It’ll be July before we know it.
