Miles Morales Has Been Cast For The Untitled Animated Spider-Man Feature Film

You’re aware that Sony Pictures Animation will be bringing an animated Spider-Man feature film to theaters in the not so distant future… right? Well, if this is news to you, brace yourself for something exciting. This film will not be starring Peter Parker as Spider-Man, but will instead focus on Miles Morales. This version of Spider-Man was introduced in 2011 and has yet to make a big screen debut. Well, that time is soon to be dead because The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Shameik Moore (who was awesome in Dope) will be voicing the half black, half Latino Spider-Man for the project.

Right now, we don’t know much about the plot but this is very exciting. Miles Morales has appeared in Disney XD’s animated series Ultimate Spider-Man, where he was voiced by Donald Glover. But, to those who don’t keep an ear to the comic ground, Miles Morales may be unknown. I know, “how could people not know there’s a new Spider-Man?!” But, some don’t know to stay after the credits for every comic book movie, forgive them.

People need to come out in droves, because this movie may be the best way to show our support for Miles in the eyes of the MCU. No, they haven’t stated they won’t be bringing Miles in eventually. Kevin Feige only told us that we have to begin (the third incarnation) Spider-Man with Peter Parker.

My dream is that in the third movie we will see Miles get a suit. Then, for Phase 5 (I think) he can take over for Peter and the fun can really begin. It’s also worth noting that while we don’t know what villain Morales will face, it will be voiced by Liev Schreiber.

More news as it comes, stay tuned!
