Milla Jovovich Is The Blood Queen In HELLBOY Reboot
As indicated by Deadline, It appears that Neil Marshall has discovered the Blood Queen. Sources tell the site that Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil films) is in final talks to join the Marshall-directed reboot of Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen.
Milla Jovovich will join Stranger Things‘ David Harbour who is playing Hellboy and Ian McShane, who’s also set to play Hellboy’s adoptive father, Professor Broom.
Quick note for all those Hellboy fans, there will be no Liz Sherman in the upcoming reboot. At least that’s what I’ve been told, Sherman in the Guillermo del Toro films was the love interest. Instead they will have Alice Monaghan. I will have more details about the film this week so stay tuned for that.
The new story sees the hero squaring off against a medieval sorceress who seeks to destroy humankind. Aron Coleite is working on the latest draft of a script by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.
The project will begin shooting in September in the U.K. and Bulgaria.
Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin are producing along with Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment. Millennium Films and Lionsgate are making the film.
Let us know what you think of Milla Jovovich playing the villain in the upcoming Hellboy reboot.
