New Trailer and Artwork for Peter Jackson’s MORTAL ENGINES!
Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson is back with a new “epic saga” set in a dystopian future, called Mortal Engines. Now, fans can watch the 90 second teaser trailer online and it is also embedded below.
From the official Mortal Engines byline: “Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan)—who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London—finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar). Two opposites, whose paths should never have crossed, forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.”
It sounds like a pretty cool concept, particularly with Jackson and a talented team of Lord of the Rings writers behind the script. The movie, which is set for release in about one year, December 14, 2018, is directed by Christian Rivers. The cast includes LOTR veteran Hugo Weaving along with Ronan Raftrey and Leila Gorge.
