Neill Blomkamp’s ALIEN 5 Looks Unlikely

*Breaks wooden crate with a judo chop* Oh, hey there Splashademiks, gather round gang I have terrible news. Well, if you love District 9, Elysium and Chappie then you were probably looking forward to director Neill Blomkamp’s plans for Alien 5. Maybe you should sit down for this. While speaking with French outlet Allocine, director Ridley Scott (franchise creator) basically took Old Yeller out back and shot him (Alien 5):

“There was never a scenario, just an idea that evolved into a pitch of 10 pages, I had to participate as a producer but it did not go any further because the Fox decided that [it] did not want to do it.”

Blomkamp revealed concept art (below) that I remember exciting social media just like it was yesterday. We were going to see Ripley return! Sigh, well don’t lose complete faith. If Alien: Covenant does well, we may see some renewed interest in keeping Alien around for more films.
