NIGHTWING Has Joined The DCEU And Headed To The Big Screen With Chris McKay Directing
Hot off the news that Matt Reeves is officially directing The Batman, now comes news that Chris McKay, who most recently directed The LEGO Batman Movie for Warner Bros., is in negotiations to helm a live-action Nightwing movie for Warner Bros, and Bill Dubuque (The Accountant) is writing the script.
Nightwing, aka Dick Grayson, is perhaps best known for being the original Robin.
Dick Grayson was taken in by billionaire and bat-friendly super hero Bruce Wayne. Bruce shared his secret life as Batman with the young boy and eventually molded him into Robin—the Dark Knight’s partner in Gotham. But as Dick grew older, playing second fiddle to the sternest hero in the Justice League began to wear on him, and eventually he struck out on his own, staying true to what he learned as Robin while coming into his own as a respected member of the super hero pantheon.
The character of Robin still can’t seem to authoritatively show up in the new Warner Bros. motion pictures, despite the fact that his spray painting canvassed suit appeared in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Robin that was allegedly slaughtered by the Joker in Batman v Superman was Jason Todd. So this new Nightwing project should fit in on the timetable.
Who would you cast as Nightwing? I still say Adam Driver. Let me know in the comments below!
