Ron Howard Teases Donald Glover as Lando on Set of HAN SOLO Film

Perhaps painfully aware of the bad PR hit the upcoming Han Solo origin story film took when the abrupt change of directors was announced, Lucasfilm and new director Ron Howard are asking fans to bury the hatchet and get excited about what’s to come.

Howard has now posted a picture to his Instagram account in which he finally reveals something of substance about his last-minute involvement with the project, a picture of star Donald Glover, who plays a young Lando Calrissian, inside the Millennium Falcon.

The Han Solo film is in an origin movie for more than just the titular character. It’s a story about how his signature ship came to be his, as it previously belonged to Lando. Seeing these first shots is certainly intriguing to lifelong fans of the characters, such as myself, and we are taking the changes in stride. Howard is, after all, an accomplished director with more than enough talent and experience under his belt.

In the Instagram post he wrote “lining up a shot today from my director’s monitor,” and he can be seen wearing a hat and sort of just chilling out. Check out the shot below!
