Ryan Reynolds Starring In Pokemon Film “DETECTIVE PIKACHU”

Deadpool apparently is not enough for the big star, Ryan Reynolds has now signed on to play the titular character in an upcoming Pokémon-based movie called Detective Pikachu

THR is reporting that Reynolds will be joining Justice Smith (from the upcoming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), and Kathryn Newton (Big Little Lies), in a tale based on a the super popular international videogame and cartoon franchise. Pikachu is a type of Pokémon, and the Detective character is one with the power to find things. Sort of the concept behind the entire app that people have gone nuts over.

According to THR, for the movie: “The story is kicked into gear when Smith’s character’s father is kidnapped, forcing the teen to team up with Pikachu in order to find him. Newton is a sassy journalist who helps them on their quest.”

THR’s sources are also saying that it will be motion capture, but little else is known except that Detective Pikachu will supposedly be directed by Goosebumps director Rob Letterman and will begin shooting in mid-January in London.

Ryan Reynolds’ next big film, Deadpool 2, is set for a June 1, 2018 release.
