Sources: SOLO: A STAR WARS Story Was Fully Reshot By Ron Howard
Ron Howard came to the head of what was then only known as a Han Solo Star Wars spinoff film (today it is Solo: A Star Wars Story) when it was supposedly basically finished. Phil Lord and Chris Miller had been working hard at it and it seemed ready to go, until “creative differences” meant a parting of the ways. The galaxy far, far away was then thrust into turmoil as legendary director Ron Howard was asked to take over, and the question was how much would have to be redone? Well, according to at least some sources, the answer is “a lot.” Stories are circulating now that over 80% of the film was shot by the award-winning director.
SWNN’s The Resistance Broadcast is reporting that inside sources revealed that most of the movie was remade. Given the production budgets of the last two films in the franchise–Force Awakens ($245 million) and Rogue One ($200 million)–it will be curious to see how much Disney has shelled out for this revisit, and whether it will pay off.
The movie will be released in May of 2018.
