Exclusive: Sylvester Stallone Top Pick For The Lead In STARLIGHT
About three years ago 20th Century Fox beat out some studios for the rights to Starlight, an upcoming comic from Wanted, Kick-Ass, and Kingsman: The Secret Service creator Mark Millar.
The comic centers on Duke McQueen, a man who has long since settled down and left his days of saving the Universe and operating as the space hero everyone depended on—at least that’s what he thought. His wife long passed and his kids off embarking on their own adventures, Duke lives a quiet, solitary life until he receives an unexpected call from a distant world, calling him to action one last time.
Sources now tell me that studio has a top pick in mind to play the aging intergalactic hero Duke McQueen and that top pick is Sylvester Stallone!
Yes Stallone is the studio’s top pick and is being considered at the moment for the project, which is a homage to the old Buck Rogers kinda space heroes.
Gary Whitta (Rogue One, Sherlock Holmes 3, Book of Eli) wrote the screenplay.
Simon Kinberg, who worked on X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Deadpool, will produce the adaptation.
Let us know what you think of Sly taking on this aging intergalactic hero if he does get the gig. Sound off below.
