Titanic Reunion Set as Kate Winslet Signs On To AVATAR Sequels With Cameron

Twenty years after the unsinkable ship sailed into theaters and sank all sorts of box office and awards records, star Kate Winslet is reuniting with director James Cameron for a titanic display of star power and might.

Cameron, who for nearly ten years has been working on a series of sequels to the highest grossing film of all time, Avatar (which bested a record held for 12 years by the 11-time Oscar winner Titanic), announced how pleased he was at the news.

Speaking exclusively to Deadline, he said: “Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career. I can’t wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life.”

We can’t either, but we will have to as the Avatar sequels barely began production in the last couple of weeks and the first of them isn’t due out until December 2020! Three more movies are in play, with a release schedule stretching into 2025. Will we even be around by then?

Stay tuned and let us know your thoughts about the Oscar-winning Winslet (now starring in The Mountain Between Us) joining the cast of the long-baked Avatar series.

Any similarity with the slightly unstable writer in the seminal 1944 film ‘The Lost Weekend’ is pure coincidence
