Wonder Woman Stomps Reshoots Doubts About JUSTICE LEAGUE
Zack Snyder took the helm of Justice League as fans were still on the fence after seeing Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That is something to tip one’s hat to as Justice League, by sheer character presences alone, looks to be a huge production and incorporates some classic names like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, while bringing to the big screen for the first time Cyborg, The Flash, and Aquaman. The weight of a successful team up was made heavier with the add on fact that he had to step away from the production during reshoots for personal matters, leaving someone else to fiddle in his vision of this dark superhero team up, Joss Whedon.
Many were probably less concerned with Whedon’s ability to merge many individual stories together because anyone who has seen the Avengers can see he handles super powered team ups with ease. Joss Whedon handled the reshoots of the Justice League film, something that usually is handled by the director of the film, and he brings a different eye to this cinematic world of supermen and demi gods. The Batman himself considered the reshoots a “interesting product of two directors”, but fell short of making any statement that what Joss Whedon was tweaking in the reshoots was a stark contrast to the world Zack Snyder had created.
Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, was more diplomatic and gave fans a more comforting look at the director change for these finishing touches, she says:
“Look, Joss, to my understanding, was Zack’s choice to finish the movie. And the tone can’t be completely different because the movie was already shot. Joss is just fine-tuning.”
Simple. Nothing left to say. Snyder left a blueprint of what the frame of the film was and Joss Whedon worked within that frame to add his thumb print to the production but not enough to alter the feel of the movie. Gal Gadot saying as little as she did and saying it simply should help ease any worries fans already had about this rushed production and feel somewhat confident that if all else, the film will hold some continuity of feeling.
Fans will get a chance to judge for themselves this year, November 17th to be exact.
