X-MEN Love Story Revealed By Halle Berry

X-MEN Love Story Revealed By Halle Berry

Splasheons, during an interview with PEOPLE and EW editorial director Jess Cagle, Halle Berry let some inside knowledge go for the world to enjoy.  Why she waited this long to let the world know is beyond me… but, anyway. The actress revealed that her portrayal of Storm and Hugh Jackman’s version of Wolverine had some romantic history in their X-Men movie universe. Sounds crazy doesn’t it? Well, apparently that just another example of Fox deciding that the X-Men could use some shaking up. I mean, it’s not like they could have her marry the Black Panther, right?

“Storm and Logan used to be lovers… It’s true. Storm and Logan had a thing.”

In a deleted scene from Bryan Singer’s 2014 sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past, Logan kisses Storm goodbye before traveling back in time to change the course of history. Halle Berry says she and Jackman kept the material for their characters’ backstories.

“I joke in the movies, I’m like, ‘How come nobody’s loving on Storm.’ Like what’s wrong with Storm? Nobody is checking for Storm… So, we decided that Storm and Logan had a thing, and then Jean came and messed that up.”

While Berry described the Storm-Wolverine relationship as “wonderful,” apparently it was only “for a time.” Seems like they’d really fleshed out this love story as Berry added:

“When he really decided that Jean Grey was his [love] … that caused a problem… Storm was heartbroken in the aftermath, but Berry maintains “the having two girls at once thing, that didn’t work for … that doesn’t work for Storm.”

Well, there you have it, Storm and Wolverine got it on. Thank you Halle Berry, thank you Hugh Jackman. Bryan Singer, “shame on you, you knew better.” Sigh, let’s just pray for some new Wolverine casting announcements soon.
